Textbooks are so much more fun to read when you're not in school. I found this one in the 'free' pile in the foyer of the library. It's a wonderful collection of readings on topics as broad as the 'Elephant Man,' evolution, theories of inheritance, and first person accounts of compelling and important research and discoveries-- like Lucy and Mendel's genetics. It makes me want to read more of Stephen Jay Gould's science essays as well as Jared Diamond's work.
